| He was born Malcolm Little. His father died when he was age 6. After spending his childhood in institutions and foster homes, he went to Boston supported himself with odd jobs. In 1952, he became a minister, taking the name Malcolm X. He was one of the most controversial figures in the civil right's movement. He had a hostile view towards white people. His carrer was cut short by an assassin. His assassin was apparently a member of a dissident black group, though mystery still remains. |
