He was born in Baltimore, Maryland.  He taught at Morehouse College in Atlanta and eventually became head of Howard Unoversity's department of sociology.  Frazier was also a great writer.  He was the author of several books including 'Black Bourgeoise.'  His numerous awards included a 1940 Guggenheim Fellowship and John Anisfield Award.
